Bill Ness was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2004 and was called to the Queensland bar in 2014.
Bill holds a Master of Laws, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland.
Bill practices predominantly in the areas of family law, criminal law, domestic and family violence, administrative law, disciplinary proceedings and regulatory prosecutions. He is an experienced trial and appellate advocate, appearing regularly in State Courts and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
Prior to commencing practice at the private Bar, Bill worked as a Senior Crown Prosecutor for the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in the Brisbane Office. He has also worked in Sydney for the NSW Legal Aid Commission and the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and in London for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Bill is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland.
